Brain Injury Services

Each year many individuals sustain some type of injury to the brain that may result in mild, moderate, or severe impairments in speech or language, memory, physical functioning, and behavior. These acquired brain injuries most often occur due to trauma, medical conditions or chemical exposure. Additionally, persons with brain injury often have accompanying mental health and/or addiction problems that also present challenges to recovery.  Get more information.

Housing

Pathways offers program-operated residences for adults with a serious mental illness who are in need of residential support and housing. Our home sites are chosen for their integration in defined neighborhoods and proximity to community services and merchants. The aim is to foster a sense of belonging and identification as well as to maximize access to points of contact typically used or frequented in daily living. We own numerous single-family homes situated in central St. Mary’s County. These homes accommodate 3-4 persons each; each resident generally has a private bedroom. Get more information.

Youth & Young Adults

Both our treatment and rehabilitation staff has expertise in helping a full range of ages. Clinical treatment is available for children as young as four years of age as well as for adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors.  Family members are encouraged to be active participants in the treatment plan. For older adolescents and young adults with mental illness, particularly, Pathways includes the nationally recognized, evidence-based practice of Family Psycho-education in its clinical strategies to help family members understand the illness and supportively respond to behavioral symptoms.  Psychiatric rehabilitation programming intensively supports the young person with a mental illness by addressing  life domains with rehabilitation plans that complement treatment and assist the individual in recovery from the illness.
